LINCOLNTON, GA. - Mr. Allen Holloway, 84, of 2491 Iveytown Rd. entered into rest on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at his residence. The funeral will be at 4:00 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2012 at Bethany United Methodist Church with the Rev. Thomas Moon officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Bruce Rowland, Greg Dukes, Tripp Williams, Caleb Clark, Clark Holloway, Tyson Turner, Edwin Burgess and Wayne Tankersley. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the men of Bethany United Methodist Church Men's Club. Mr. Holloway was the son of the late Henry Morgan Holloway and the late Pauline Burns Holloway. He served his country in the United States Air Force in 1946 and later retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation. Mr. Holloway was a charter member of Rocky Branch Golf Club, member of Lincoln County Athletic Booster Club and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, where he served on numerous church committees and offices, including president of the Men's Club, Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, chairman of the PPR Committee and served as song leader for many years. Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years, Betty Ivey Holloway; one daughter, Lilly H. Turner and husband, Eddy of Lincolnton; one son, Al Holloway and wife, Nancy of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, Anna T. Williams, Tyson Turner, Clark Holloway and Carly H. Clark; six sisters, Ernestine Bohler, Rachel Haynes, Prudie Tankersley, Julia Reese, all of Lincolnton, Lou McWilliams of Birmingham, AL. and Patsy Clement of Evans, GA.
