WASHINGTON, GA - Mrs. Amelia Cofer Chafin, 82, of Cloverhurst Dr. entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Wills Memorial Hospital.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Melissa Reynolds and Rev. Charles Robinson officiating. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.

Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Sherrer, Roger McAvoy, David Chafin, Johnny McAvoy, Bill Chafin, Whit Chafin and Casey Chafin.

Mrs. Chafin was the daughter of the late Frank Colley Cofer and Townsie Price Cofer. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and retired after 50 years as credit manager with Essex Manufacturing.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Charles E. Chafin; one son, Steve Chafin and wife, Mary Beth; four grandchildren, Casey, Brittni, Whit and Lauren; two great grandchildren, Bella and Brady; daughter-in-law, Donna Chafin. Mrs. Chafin along with her parents was preceded in death by a son, Scott Chafin and brother, Carroll Cofer.
