Obituary

    Mrs. Audrey Goldman, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2026, at The Tignall House in Tignall, Georgia. She was a longtime resident of Lincolnton, Ga. Audrey’s life was a testament to her unwavering kindness and her commitment to her community and family.

   The youngest daughter of the late John Thomas and Lottie Clarice Clark Burns of Cairo, Georgia. She was born on May 8, 1933 in Putnum County, Florida. Audrey grew up in Decatur, Georgia and graduated from Bass High School in 1951. Audrey was married to the late Alex Steve Goldman in 1951 and together they lived in Lincolnton for many years. She worked at the Little Shop. She was a member of Lincolnton Baptist Church where she served diligently as a member of T.E.L. Sunday School Class.

   Audrey was a devoted mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. She enjoyed life, being with her family and she loved traveling.

   Mrs. Goldman is survived by her daughter, Stephanie G. Chapman of Washington, and two sons, Mark H. Goldman, and wife Becky of Lincolnton and Alex Steve Goldman, Jr. and wife Susan of Winterville; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alex "Steve" Goldman, Sr.; brothers, George Burns, Tom Burns; sisters, Johnnie Manley, Thelma Fouch along with several brother and sister in-laws, son in-law, Larry Chapman and grandson, Jason Chapman.

    Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 11:00 am at Lincolnton Baptist Church with Rev. Tripp Goodwin officiating. Interment will follow in Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery. On the morning of the funeral, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the funeral, the family will receive friends at Lincolnton Baptist Church.

   At her request, her grandsons and family friends will serve as pallbearers. They include Gene Walker, Charlie Wurst, Chandler Goldman, Steven Goldman, Chase Goldman, Justin Armour and Trent Collette.

   The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to The Tignall House Staff and Agape Hospice for their care of Mrs. Goldman
