LINCOLNTON, GA - Ms. Barbara Annette Kennedy, 79, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Piedmont Augusta Hospital.

The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Greenwood Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Paul Reviere officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Rees Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gene Edwards, Kenn Barnett, David Dawkins and Ernie Guthrie.

Ms. Kennedy was the daughter of the late James Robert Kennedy and the late Hazel Cross Herron Kennedy of Lincoln County. Barbara was of the Baptist faith and lived most of her life in Lincolnton. She loved flowers and recalled fond memories of growing up near her "Granny's" home at the foot of Graves Mountain with her cousins.

Survivors include her son Jerry Lee Lancaster II and wife, Amber of Boonville, NC; three grandchildren, Trey Lancaster, Jessica L. Golden and husband, Jarrett of Kings, NC and Dillon Skelton of Hawkinsville, GA; great grandchildren, Bowen Golden and Brooks Golden; and numerous other cousins. Barbara was also survived by a very dear companion friend, Carl Commisong of Lincolnton, GA who brought much happiness into her life. Ms. Kennedy was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jerry Ann Lancaster Christian.
