LINCOLNTON, GA. - Mr. Bernard Alexander "Alex" Willingham, Jr., 79 of 310 Sunrise Dr. entered into rest on Monday, December 24, 2012 at Doctor's Hospital in Augusta, GA. The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Lincolnton City Cemetery weather permitting with Chaplain Frank Hester officiating. If the weather is inclement the service will be held at Rees Funeral Home. Mr. Willingham was the son of the late Bernard Alexander Willingham, Sr. and the late Minnie Lee Parks Willingham. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired owner and operator of Willingham's Service Station. Mr. Alex loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of Lincolnton United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Jackie P. Willingham; two daughters, Marsha W. Scott of Lincolnton and Tara W. Hester and husband, Frank of Lexington, S.C.; one son, Jimmy Willingham of Evans, GA.; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces and a close friend, Marcy Remsen. Mr. Willingham was preceded in death by a brother, Brooks Willingham; sister, Betty W. Timmerman and a faithful companion, Shot.
