February 19, 1938 – July 8, 2023
LINCOLNTON, GA - Mrs. Beth Drinkard Reed, 85, entered into eternal rest at her home on Reed Rd. on Saturday, July 8, 2023.
Mrs. Reed was the daughter of the late Hawes Marcy Drinkard and the late Gracie Scott Drinkard. She was a faithful member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church and was the church pianist for sixty years. Beth was a member and past president of the WMU, a member of the Worship Committee, serving on the Administrative Council and the Bereavement Committee for many years. Beth along with her late husband, Olin were renowned for their special layer cakes which were a delight for the people of Lincoln County and far beyond.
Survivors include children, Gracia Denton and husband, Jeff, Hawes Reed and friend, Karen Scott, Lettie Anne Reed and Thomas Reed and wife, Katie; grandchildren, William Denton and wife, Jessica, Elsbeth Davenport and husband, Drew, Reed Denton and wife, Taylor, Brandon Reed and wife, Robin, Kimberly Harmon and husband, Jacob, Gracie Anne Self, Talley Reed, Emma Reed and Tamsen Reed; great grandchildren, Olin Davenport, Kenley Denton, Josephine Denton, Liam Denton, Braxton Reed, Palmer Reed, Mia Denton and A.J. Stewart. Mrs. Reed was also preceded in death along with her parents by her husband of 65 years, Thomas Olin Reed, Sr., sister, Anne Drinkard Remsen and a brother, Frank Hawes Drinkard.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 in the sanctuary at Pine Grove United Methodist Church. The Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2 p.m. at Pine Grove UMC with Rev. Wes Gardner and Rev. Bart Grey officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be William Denton, Reed Denton, Brandon Reed, Drew Davenport, Marcy Remsen, George Remsen, Jacob Harmon and Marcus Matthews. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Larry Campbell and Danny Aycock.
