SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Mrs. Betty Alexander Smalley, 89, wife of the late Edward Smalley entered into rest on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at the Elizabeth House in Hendersonville, N.C. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Oconee Memorial Park in Seneca, S.C. with the Rev. Tom Smalley officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Bob Alexander, Billy Beale, Charles Beggs, Alex McGee, Jack Smalley and Wayne Allen Smalley. Mrs. Smalley was the daughter of the late Emory Alexander and the late Estelle Lay Alexander of Tamassee, S.C. She was retired from South Carolina Social Services and was a member of Walhalla First Baptist Church and the Walhalla Eastern Star Chapter 134. Survivors include one daughter, Brenda S. Drinkwater and husband, Al of Moore, S.C.; two grandchildren, Jeffery Padgett of San Bruno, CA. and Julie Jones and husband, Charles of Spartanburg; two great granddaughters, Charlee Ann and Mary Caroline Jones; five sister-in-laws, Myrtle S. Flint, Helen S. Parks, Mozelle Smalley, Marie Smalley and Olivia Smalley and several nieces and nephews.
