LINCOLNTON, GA. - Mr. William Crawford "Billy" Reese, 83, of Double Branches Rd. entered into rest on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Augusta, GA. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2015 at Martin's Crossroads Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. James James and Rev. Kenneth Law officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Miller Boswell, Blanchard Boswell, Kyle Reese, Blair Reese, Norman Reese and Doug Prestwood. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be members of the Gideons International and the Men's Adult Sunday School Class. Mr. Reese was the son of the late Leon Norman Reese and the late Winnie Bohler Reese of Lincolnton. He served his country honorably in the United States Army and later retired from the Ironworkers Local 709 of Augusta. After retirement Mr. Reese enjoyed raising cattle and gardening. He was a founding member of Martin's Crossroads Fire Department and also served as the chaplain. Mr. Reese was a member of Gideons International and Martin's Crossroads Congregational Holiness Church where he was a member of the Men's Adult Sunday School Class. Survivors include his beloved wife of 61 years, Julia H. Reese; one daughter, Connie R. Boswell and husband, John of Lincolnton; three sons, William Darrell Reese, Michael Ray Reese and Colleen LeRoy and John Phillip Reese and wife, Lisa all of Lincolnton; one sister, Shirley Carden and husband, Gene of Savannah, GA.; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. Reese was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Gragg and Rebecca Sanders; and two brothers, Randall Reese and Gene Leverett.
