Mrs. Bonnie Dunaway Brown, 95, entered into eternal rest at her home on Pecan Grove Rd. on Friday, August 8, 2025.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 3:00 p.m. on Monday in the Victory Baptist Church sanctuary. The celebration of life service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 11, 2025 at Victory Baptist Church with Pastor Jimmy Chapman and son, Ray Brown officiating. The interment service will be private.
Serving as pallbearers will be Wade Dunnaway, Peyton McGill, Dan Durham, Joey Brown, Eric Archer and Rick Cox.
Mrs. Brown was born on May 14, 1930 and the daughter of Raymond Dunaway and Martha Turpin Dunaway of the Aonia Community in Wilkes County, GA. She graduated from Washington High School in 1947, and a year later married the love of her life, Troy Brown on November 23, 1948. She and Troy were married for 71 years before his death on May 17, 2020. Mrs. Bonnie worked as a bookkeeper along with her husband in the family business of Brown Electric & Manufacturing Company. She was a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church in Washington, GA.
Survivors include two sons, Ray Brown and wife, Gail of Blairsville, GA and Tim Brown and wife, Dori of Washington, GA; and son-in-law, Kenneth Lindsey of Washington, GA.; eight grandchildren, Mary Ellen Lindsey and Karin Lindsey of Washington, GA, Kristie Lindsey Rose of Nashville, TN, Andrea Brown Stringer Guffey and husband, Roy of Blairsville, GA, Ashley Brown of PA, Adam Brown of New York City, NY, Scott Brown and wife, Frankie of Lincolnton, GA, and Brittney Brown Dyson and husband, Chris of Thomson, GA; ten great grandchildren; brother, Alex Dunaway of Washington, GA; sister-in-law, Regina Dunnaway of Washington, GA. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Lindsey and seven siblings.
The family would like to thank Karla Edwards and Bristol Hospice for the kind and compassionate care. And a special thank you to our mothers caregivers, Karen Abrams, Mary Danner, Althea Harden and granddaughter, Karin Lindsey.
