Avis Carolyn "Carol" Bearse Cole, age 79, went home to be with her Savior on Sunday, February 2, 2025, surrounded by her family at the daughter's home in Appling.

Carol was born on August 8, 1945, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Avis Carolyn Bearse and Asa Taylor Bearse Jr. An Atlanta native, she was a graduate of Briarcliffe High School and met her husband, Lamar Cole, at South Georgia College in Douglas, Georgia.

She is survived by her husband, her sister, Martha Turner, her daughters, Deborah Torres (Rolando) and Michele Broadbrooks (Chip), and her grandchildren, Joshua Jones, Alexander Torres, Samuel Torres, Jarrett Torres, and Veronica Torres. She is predeceased by her brother, Asa Taylor Bearse III, and her grandson, Chase Cole Corrao. She will be remembered for her infectious, upbeat personality, her love and care for her family and friends, and for her commitment to the Lord.

A Celebration of Her Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday,  February 10, 2025 at Lincolnton Methodist Church in Lincolnton, GA, officiated by Reverend Mike Gudka. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday at Rees Funeral Home.
