Obituary

Mrs. Constance "Connie" H. Grey, 86, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Riverside Health Care Center in Covington, GA.

Mrs. Grey was the daughter of the late William Albert Hickman and the late Willie Opell Hickman of Langley, SC. She had retired as a certified surgical technician with over 30 years of service and served on the board of the directors of the Volunteer Guild at Doctor's Hospital. Mrs. Grey was a member of Woodlake Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed ballroom dancing and competed across the state of Georgia winning many titles. She was also an accomplished singer and a member of the Augusta Choral Society, Columbia County Choral Society, an honorary member of the Augusta Collegium Musicum and was previously the organist and pianist at Langley Baptist Church.  Mrs. Grey was an artist that enjoyed painting. She was a true southern chef that loved to cook, known for her homemade buttermilk biscuits. Mrs. Grey loved her family dearly.

She is survived by three children, Bart Grey of Lincolnton, GA, Carol Willis and husband, Eddie of Martinez, GA and Jerry Grey of Loganville, GA; one granddaughter, Amanda Willis and also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Grey was also preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth McDonald.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Lincolnton Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Grey and Rev. Bart Grey officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of service at Lincolnton Baptist Church. Interment will be at West View Cemetery in Augusta, GA.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Baker, Brian Lancaster, Don Grey, Jr., Ryan Zamor, Doug Brown and Buddy Bradford. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Oscar Napier, Charlie Hinely, Richard Huff, Glen Franklin, James Cole and Sanford Crawford.

The family would like to thank the staff of Riverside Health Care Center and Long Leaf Hospice for their very loving and attentive care to our mother.
