LINCOLNTON, GA. - Mrs. Dimple Bowman Banks, 79, entered into eternal rest with the family by her bedside at her residence on the McCormick Hwy. on Friday, March 2, 2018.
The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2018 at Bethany United Methodist Church with Rev. Lanis Lewis and Rev. Terry Bonds officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Sean Vernon, Al Dawkins, Levi Banks, Colby Banks, Cody Creswell and Ricky Creswell.
Mrs. Banks was the daughter of the late Charlie Edward Bowman and the late Doris Burgess Bowman of Carthage, TN. She was a member of the Lincoln County Historical Society, Friends of the Library and Bethany United Methodist Church. Mrs. Banks, or Dimple as everyone knew her, served as a waitress at Soap Creek Restaurant for many years, was an avid reader, loved movies and was a serious card player. She was a friend to everyone that knew her and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her children, Vicki Banks Dawkins and husband Sammy, and Dale Banks of Lincolnton, Larry Banks and wife, Patricia of Davisboro, GA., Brian Banks of Lincolnton, Randy Banks and wife, Nikki of Oak Field, GA., Kathy Banks Driggers and husband, J.C. of Orange Park, FL., Brandon Banks and wife, Stephanie of Lincolnton; one brother, Bobby Bowman and wife, Carolyn of Christiana, TN.; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren and numerous other family members.
Mrs. Banks was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Smith Banks; two granddaughters, Shannon Dawkins Jennings and Colbi Driggers; one sister, Sue Scott and one brother, Billy Bowman.
