IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dorothy E.
Botelho
May 7, 1951 – May 23, 2024
LINCOLNTON, GA. – Ms. Dorothy Elizabeth Botelho, 73, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 23, 2024.
Dorothy was born on May 7, 1951 in Augusta, GA where she lived for most of her childhood. She briefly attended Butler High School in Augusta before her family relocated to Portsmouth, RI. She was a 1969 graduate of Portsmouth High School, where she met her ex-husband, Alfred J. Botelho. They resided in Portsmouth, RI where she raised their three children and worked at Newport Hospital in Newport, RI for 20 years. In 1993, she relocated to Lincolnton, GA and soon became employed by Brandon Wilde in Evans, GA where she worked full-time for the last 30 years. During her time at Brandon Wilde, Dorothy held many different job titles, most recently as an Accounts Payable Specialist.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Tammy Botelho Caudell and husband Cale, son, Shawn T. Botelho and wife Amy, cherished grandchildren, Lyric Malone Caudell, Jonathan David Botelho and Cody Grubbs and wife Brooke, and sister, Virginia Skinner. She was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Creech Hasselberger and husband John, father, Herbert L. Pugh and son, Jonathan Michael Botelho.
Dorothy was deeply loved and respected by everyone who met her. Her biggest fan and granddaughter affectionately named and called her B-ma. Some called her Ms. Dorothy or Dot, while others called her Ms. Botelho, but those closest to her called her B-ma, G-ma, Mom or just Ma. Regardless of what you referred to her as, you knew when you did call her, she would be there. B-ma loved spending time with her grandchildren every opportunity she had and would drive to Athens almost every weekend to see her "baby girl", Lyric. They spent countless hours together crafting, baking, shopping, watching movies, and putting together puzzles. Dorothy was happiest when her whole family was together. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and going on vacation with her family. She always made time to be part of the many events in their lives. She was incredibly giving of her time and we will miss her with all our hearts.
