Lincolnton, GA - Mrs. Dorothy (Dot) Albea Lindsey, 78, of Maxim Road went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. Her husband, Rudy, and son, Sid, were by her side.
Dot was the daughter of the late Coleman Curtis and Marie Watts Albea of Greenwood, S.C. She was a former resident of Belvedere, S.C. but has made Lincolnton her home for the last 20 years. Dot loved the lake and the lake community. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing. She loved tending to her flowers and feeding the birds, squirrels, and deer that wandered through the yard. Dot was a lady of many talents. She eagerly participated in the Linus Project, which produced quilted blankets for terminally ill children, and enjoyed refinishing furniture and dabbling in many arts and crafts. Dot also was enthusiastic about a good day of shopping or a beach vacation.
Dot cherished her family, friends, and church family. She loved her Savior and had an exceptionally strong faith. She actively participated in the church and the United Methodist Women's Group. Dot adored her family and friends. She greeted people in a way that made them feel so loved and special. She supported her friends enthusiastically in good times and lovingly in difficult ones. There was always a warm hug from Dot.
