Obituary

LINCOLNTON, GA. - Mr. Douglas W. Bohler, 77, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 19, 2018, with the family by his bedside at the residence on Double Branches Rd.

The Celebration of Life service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Martin's Crossroad Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. James James officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Loper, Jay Clark, Troy McDonald, Brett McDonald, Miller Boswell and Blanchard Boswell. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Larry Walton, Louis Bissonnette, Henry Holsenback, Mike Broome, Darrell Reese, Dave Kantner and Tommy Poole.

Mr. Bohler was the son of  Willard Austin Bohler and Ernestine Holloway Bohler. He served his country with honor from November 1962 until November 1966 in the United States Air Force and attained the rank of E4. Mr. Bohler  retired from International Paper after 36 years and was a devoted and faithful member of Martin's Crossroad Congregational Holiness Church. He had many interests including being an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed NASCAR. Mr. Bohler loved duck hunting with his labs, Lincoln County and University of Georgia football. Mr. Bohler was a loving husband and shared a very special bond with his sons.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 51 years, Dolly H. Bohler; two sons, Brad Bohler of Lincolnton and Travis Bohler and wife, Renee of Thomson GA; five grandchildren, Dalton Seth Bohler, Luke Chance Bohler, Jasmine Marie Kross, Jason Blythe Henderson and Wesley Blayne Henderson; three Sisters, Carolyn Bohler Loper of Augusta GA, Edith Bohler Smith of Martinez, GA and Gail Bohler Bird and husband, Kirt of Lincolnton; loving and faithful canine companion, Krissie Lynn.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to Martin's Crossroad Congregational Holiness Church, 4478 Hwy 220 East, Lincolnton, GA 30817.
