Obituary

LINCOLNTON, GA - Mr. Gordon Dwaine Biggerstaff, 72, entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 10, 2022 at his residence on Lillian Sims Dr.

The celebration of life service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2022 at the Lewis Family Pavilion in the Lincoln County Historical Park, 147 Lumber Street with Patricia "Nolia" Biggerstaff,  Mike McCombs, Walker T. Norman, Jack G. Smalley and Don Thomas speaking. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be current and past mayors, councilmen and employees of the City of Lincolnton. Interment will be private.

Mr. Biggerstaff was the son of the late Gordon Spate and Loudelle Bohler Biggerstaff. Dwaine was a pillar of the community serving as mayor of the city of Lincolnton from 1997 until 2009. He served as city councilman for nearly 20 years and was presently serving an unexpired term on city council. Dwaine was an entrepreneur, where he was owner and managed several businesses in Lincolnton. He was an avid University of Georgia Bulldog supporter and a member of Lincoln County Historical Society, where he was very instrumental in the preservation of the historical Wright House and was also a member of the Lincolnton United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 53 years, Patricia "Nolia" Biggerstaff; two daughters, Natalie Biggerstaff and Dr. Christen Biggerstaff Trogolo and husband, Dr. Frank Trogolo; four grandchildren, Annmarie and Sophia Santiagata, Ryan and Christian Trogolo; three sisters, Cherryl Hicks, Karen Phillips, Denise McWhorter and husband, Price; numerous nieces and nephews; a very close friend Tommy Mims and a beloved companion, Eli.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Lincoln County Historical Society for preservation of the historical Wright house, in care of Mr. Mack Shealy, 1075 West Lake Dr., Lincolnton, GA 30817.
