Mr. Forrest Dale Spence, 75, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at his home surrounded by the family.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Hephzibah Baptist Church with Rev. Elliott Smith and Rev. Allen Danner officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025 at Rees Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be James Duke, Ernie Guthrie, Earl McKellar, Hillyer Wright, Robert Flanigan, Jim Aycock, Tommy Crabb, Trey Epps and Clarence Norman, Jr.

Forrest was loved by everyone and was a helper to all that was in need day or night. Forrest's family and friends knew him as Spunk, Goodwrench, Daddy and Big Papa but he was also known to all as a friend. He was an auto technician for most of his life and could repair or rebuild most any type of engine that was in need.  Forrest had earlier served his country with honor in the South Carolina National Guard.

Forrest was survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol Holsenback Spence; two daughters,  Pam S. Freeman and husband, Steve of Lincolnton and Paula S. Parham of Grovetown ; one son, Brad Spence and wife, Mackenzie of Martinez ; one sister, Joy S. Smalley and husband, Jack of Lincolnton; six grandchildren, Austin, Dakota, Carlee, Hainsley, Alyssa and Sebastain; and eight great grandchildren, Aubree, Levi, Bryson, Everleigh, Kason, Kimberlyn, Kinzlee and Blakely Mae. Forrest was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Bell Spence and Matile Teasley Spence; brother, Barry Spence; and a great grandchild, Spencer Parham.
