Obituary

LINCOLNTON, GA. - Mr. Harry Partridge, 80, of Perryman Ave. entered into rest on Friday, May 1, 2009 at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2009 at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Addison Belangia, Rev. Russell Davis and Rev. Dan Rosser officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Andy Pollard, Alvin E. Hawes, William R. Butler, Allen Partridge, Robert L. Partridge Wayne Partridge, Stan Partridge and William Partridge. Mr. Partridge was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County and the son of the late William Sidney Partridge, Sr. and Mary Emma Freeland Partridge. He was a cattle farmer and owner and operator of Harry Partridge Logging Contractor for 20 years. Previously he owned and operated a sawmill for 19 years. Mr. Partridge was a veteran of the United States Navy, where he served his country honorably during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 194 for 54 years and served as a financial officer for 30 years. Mr. Partridge was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, Comrades Sunday School Class and was assistant church treasurer for many years. He also served on the board of directors at Farm Bureau. Survivors include his wife, Patsy McCurry Partridge; daughter, Mary Ellen Brantley and husband, Jeremiah of Grovetown, Ga.; step daughter, Penny B. Roberson and husband, Rodney of Washington Ga.; two step sons, Herbert Bailey, Jr. and Joan Broome of Lincolnton Ga., Manuel Bailey and wife, Mercedes of Washington Ga.; two grandsons, Owen and Jonas Brantley; three step granddaughters, Toni Callaway and husband, Tom, Patricia Massey and husband, Chris and Abby Bailey; two step grandsons, Jason Bailey and wife, Erin, Scotty Roberson and wife, Mandy; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Audrey P. Fleming and Dorothy Partridge, both of Lincolnton; brother, Earl Partridge and wife, Lou of Lincolnton. If so desired memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, P.O.
