Obituary

LINCOLNTON, GA. - Mrs. Helen Lord Jackson, 87, entered into rest on Monday, December 5, 2011 at McDuffie Regional Medical Center in Thomson, GA. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Hephzibah Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Danner officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Les Banks, Justin Banks, David Jackson, Jackie Barrett, Hillyer Wright and John Thurmond. Mrs. Jackson was the daughter of the late Clyde Lord and the late Ina Ingram Lord of Jackson County, GA. She was a member of Hephzibah Baptist Church and Adult Women II Sunday School Class. Mrs. Jackson loved flowers and enjoyed working in her garden. She was an excellent cook, and Mrs. Jackson and her husband, Roy owned and operated the Home Cafe from 1963 until 1971. Survivors include two sons, Tom Jackson and wife, Evelyn of Conyers, GA. and James Jackson of Clayton, N.C.; one daughter, Marie Jackson of Lincolnton; six grandchildren, Donna Brown, Ben Jackson, David Jackson, Les Banks, Justin Banks and Mallory Banks; seven great grandchildren and one sister, Mildred Barrett of Commerce, GA. Mrs.Jackson was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Roy Jackson; brother, Herman Lord and sister, Marguerite Pearson.
