EVANS, GA. - Mrs. Ilene G. Rumsey, 74, entered into rest on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Brandon Wilde in Evans. Mrs. Rumsey was retired as a hairdresser and was owner and operator of Martinez Beauty Salon for many years. She was past matron of Eastern Star #463, past president of the Ladies Auxillary Augusta Shrine Club and was a member of Carnes Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Theresa R. O'Brien and Pennie Lynn Powell, both of Martinez, Ga.; one son, Benjie Roy Rumsey of Jackson, S.C.; six grandchildren, Michael O'Brien, Michelle Lynn, Andy Powell, Chris Rumsey, Clay Rumsey and wife, Jennifer and Candice Rumsey; eight great grandchildren, Austin Lynn, Jarrod Edmunds, Carter Powell, Justin Rumsey, Drayson Rumsey, Clayton Rumsey, Mya Rumsey and Cruz Sixtos; one sister, Pauline Hicks of Toccoa, Ga.; three brothers, Ernest Gunn, Jr., William Gunn and Samuel Gunn all of Toccoa. Mrs. Rumsey was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Clark Rumsey. No funeral services are planned. There will be a private interment at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Augusta, Ga.
