James Thomas Williams, Jr., 77, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Regency Hospital of Greenville.
Born in Washington, GA, but raised in Lincolnton, GA, Tony was the son of the late Edith Hammond and James Thomas Williams, Sr. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. He was a member of Whitefield Baptist Church, served in the SC Army National Guard, and was also a Master Mason of Lincolnton Lodge #354 in Georgia.
Tony was owner/operator of USA Floor Covering. He began his career at Deering Milliken, where he enjoyed technical sales for 11 years and then continued his career in the textile industry in polymer sales.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Gerrard Williams; sons, Dr. James Christian Williams (Susan) and Joseph Courtney Williams; daughter, Kimberly Williams Ridgeway (David), all of Anderson; grandchildren, Hannah, Carter, and Emma Williams and Jackson, Walker, and Mallory Ridgeway; brother, Dr. Robert Williams; and sister, Carol Olson, both of Lincolnton, GA.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 12 th at Whitefield Baptist Church with Rev. Mike McMinn officiating. Burial was at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family was at the home of his son, Dr. Christian Williams.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Whitefield Baptist Church, 207 Mitchell Road, Belton, SC 29627.
Sullivan-King Mortuary and Crematory was in care of the arrangements for the Williams family.
