Mr. James E. Wisenbaker, 101, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at his residence on Pinecone Drive.
Born and raised in Valdosta, Georgia, James was the son of Simeon A. Wisenbaker and Lama A. Wisenbaker. James was the loving husband to Betty Dean Wisenbaker for over 75 years. In addition to his wife, Mr. Wisenbaker is survived by his daughter, Becky Balliew (Troy), and his grandchildren, Deana Vail (Shawn), Geoff Rohrs (Amy), and Katie Balliew. Mr. Wisenbaker is also survived by his great grandson Jonathon M. Vail.
James proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a POW for over 7 months. Mr. Wisenbaker retired from a 40+ year career with the Seaboard Coastline/CSX railroad. James was a life long sports fan - an avid Valdosta Wildcat supporter, a life long Bulldog fan, and an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
Mr. Wisenbaker will be celebrated in a private memorial with his family.
