Obituary

WASHINGTON, GA - Mrs. Jean Price Rhodes, 98 one of many angels on this earth, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 29, 2021 to take her rightful place among all heavenly angels.
The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Independence United Methodist Church Cemetery in Tignall, GA with Dr. James C. Cantrell officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Chafin, Blakey Brown, Charles Rhodes, Jr., Rick Price, Tim Jackson and Steve Chafin.
Mrs. Rhodes was born July 14, 1922 in Wilkes County, GA her spirit is reunited with her deceased siblings: Frances Price Brown, Townsie Price Cofer, Billy Hall, Marian Price Hart, Bill Price, Oscar Price, Nell Price Roland, Dallas Price Smith, and her late husband, Jack Morgan Rhodes.
Survivors from her eight brothers and sisters are nieces and nephews along with their families, Pamela Hall Barnwell, Blakey Brown, Amelia Cofer Chafin, Marie Hall Messer, Rebecca Price Morgan, Harold Price, James Price, C.E. "Eddie" Roland, and Sandra J. Sykes. Also surviving are her primary caregivers: Betty Hullin, Alma Jones, Lillie Gresham and Pauline Lewis who attended to her every need with love. Of special mention is Charles Chafin who responded cheerfully to her every beckon, regardless of the time or task with loving patience, kindness and understanding.
A lifelong resident of Wilkes County, Jean remained an active and dedicated member of Independence United Methodist Church. In addition to her church service, she served as a volunteer in many capacities at Wills Memorial Hospital.
A talented artist, Jean painted in the medium of oils on canvas, porcelain, and china. She also needle pointed and knitted beautifully. She generously shared many pieces of her artwork with appreciative family members and friends.
In her late 70's she taught herself to use a computer to maintain her avid interest in extended family via emails and cell phone calls.
Her indomitable spirit of love, learning, joy, and generosity will forever remain an inspiration to each person whose life she touched.
