LINCOLNTON, GA. - Mr. John David Crawford, Sr., 81, entered into rest on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at his residence on Goshen Street.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Goshen Baptist Church with Rev. Paul C. Reviere officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robby Crawford, David Crawford, Lee Myers, Donnie Crawford, Bill Crawford and Joe Crawford.
Mr. Crawford was the son of the late David Charles "Dave" Crawford and the late Johnnie Mae Ryder Crawford. He had retired after 21 years of service while serving his country with honor in the United States Navy. After his retirement with the Navy Mr. Crawford was employed as a textile worker and later retired from Regal Manufacturing.
Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Myers of Lexington, S.C. and Donna Charping and husband, Thomas of Washington, GA.; two sons John David Crawford, Jr. of Union Point, GA. and Robbie Crawford of Lincolnton; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one sister Barbara Goldman and husband, Marvin of Lincolnton; two brothers, Melvin Crawford and wife, Jo of Washington and Bill Crawford and wife, Doris of Greensboro; and numerous other family members.
Mr. Crawford along with his parents was preceded in death by his wife, Nina "Honey" Massey Crawford and a brother, Lewis Charles Crawford.
