Mr. Freeman was born May 24, 1935 in Charlotte, N.C. and the son of the late Lucius Edwin Freeman and the late Edna Overcash Freeman. He was owner of Johnny's Carpet Cleaning and was a veteran serving his country with honor in the United States Air Force.

Survivors include his wife, Jennie M. Freeman; children, Steve Freeman and wife, Pam of Lincolnton, Don Freeman and wife, Shirley of Wrens,GA., Paula Callaway and husband, Dennis of Lincolnton, Lisa Williams and husband, Hovis of Villa Rica, Ga., Inger Archer and husband, John of Brunswick, GA., Torie Crumbley and husband, Ralph of Arkansas, Jackie Pond of Lincolnton, Bryan Freeman of Marietta, GA., Johnnie Freeman and husband, Quinn of Villa Rica, GA., Joshua Freeman and wife, Jana of Lincolnton; brother, Buddy Freeman and wife, Ellen of South Carolina; nineteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at First Assembly of God with Pastor Lanis Lewis and Pastor Terry Bonds officiating. Interment with military honors will be at West View Cemetery in Augusta, GA.

Serving as pallbearers will be Raleigh Roye, Earl Rogers, John Archer, Marvin Chancey, James Williams, Stanley Harris, Phillip Harris and Adam Lorren.
