MARTINEZ, GA - Mrs. Klara M. Peterson, 91, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon, GA.

The celebration of life service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 3, 2022 at Pine Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Bart Grey and Rev. Phillip Kinney officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Peterson was the daughter of Jacob Maurer and Maria Braun Maurer of Marburg, Germany. She and her husband, Howard met while he was stationed in Germany during his service in the United States Army.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Peterson and wife, Diane of Evans, GA. and Victor Peterson of Martinez, GA.; two daughters, Maria L. Moon of Thomson, GA. and Sonya P. Moon and husband, Earnest of Lincolnton; one sister, Malthide Giesselmann "Tillie" Stadtallendorf of Germany; eight grandchildren, Shannon Tucker, Eric Moon, Robby Moon, Mitchell Moon, Daniel Peterson, Jason Peterson, Joey Moon and Justin Moon; twelve great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren. Mrs. Peterson along with her parents was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Wellington Peterson; son, Kenny H. Peterson; three brothers and two sisters.
