LINCOLNTON, GA. - Mrs. Lucy Ann Kinney,64 entered into the arms of Jesus on Friday, April 3, 2009 at University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. The memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Lucy will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Elijah Clark State Park Group Shelter 2 with Rev. Philip Kinney officiating. Mrs. Kinney was a member of Legacy Church of God in Martinez, Ga. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. She was affectionately known as the Hat-Lady . She was a retired school teacher and nurse. She enjoyed fishing, shopping and especially spending time with her family. She was also an avid Georgia Bulldog football fan. Mrs. Kinney is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Robert B. Kinney; a daughter, Rebekah Kinney Goble and husband Grayson of Lincolnton; a son, Rev. Philip L. Kinney and wife Debra of Lincolnton; four grandchildren, Colton Philip Kinney, Colbi LeAnn Kinney, Paul Luke Kinney and Robert Alan Turner all of Lincolnton; two sister-in-laws, Kathleen Lawson Wesselmann of Columbia, Missouri and Barbara A. Gustafson and husband, Richard of Forreston, Illinois; a niece, Jessica Lawson of Brooklyn, New York and her best friend, Martha Brangenburg of Lincolnton. Mrs. Kinney was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse J. and Thelma G. Lawson; a brother, Luther A. Lawson; a grandchild, Baby Goble and a special pet, Isabell Huckelberry.
