LINCOLNTON, GA. - Mrs. Mary Catherine McKellar, 81, of May Ave. entered into rest on Sunday, January 24, 2010 at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Loco Baptist Church with Rev. Wade Palmer officiating. Interment will be in New Hope Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Truitt Dill, Charles Henderson, Curry Hogan, Carl Inglett, Buddy Quarles, Steve Quarles, Tim Quarles and Robert F. "Chigger" Wilkes. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Richard Goolsby, Bob Norman and Dr. Robert Williams. Mrs. McKellar was the daughter of the late William Bill Burns and the late Aileen Helen Stewart Burns of Asheville, N.C. She was a caregiver for many years, was very involved with the Lincoln County Senior Citizens and a member of Loco Baptist Church. Survivors include six sons, Carlton Dornberg, Coleman Grove McKellar, Jr., William "Billy" McKellar and Earl "Bo-Pete" McKellar all of Lincolnton, Howard "Buddy" McKellar of Elberton, GA and Claude McKellar of Washington, GA..: five daughters, Marynell Quarles of Thomson, GA., Joann Corley of Appling, GA., Brenda Bessinger, Linda Parks and Lou McKellar all of Lincolnton; and a very dear friend, Carolyn Bussey of Lincolnton: twenty-eight grandchildren and forty-one great grandchildren.
