LINCOLNTON, GA - Mrs. Mary Jane Rowland Clement, 88, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at her residence.
A celebration of life service will be at 4:00 pm Friday, September 23, 2022 at Goshen Baptist Church with Reverend Donald Walton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:30 pm until the hour of service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy Burgess (Bubba), Chris Burgess, Tom Beard, Mel Partridge, Mike McCombs, Glenn Creech, Bruce Rowland and Larry Campbell.
Mary Jane was the daughter of the late Claude Oliver Rowland and the late Mary Jane Hall Rowland. She was a homemaker and a member of Goshen Baptist Church where she served as a Church Hostess. Mary Jane was known for her famous fried pies and ham biscuits.
Survivors include her children Betty Burgess Beard of Washington; Melvin Thomas Burgess of Lincolnton and Debra Clement Partridge and husband Tim of Lincolnton; Grandchildren; Jeremy Burgess (Bubba) and wife, Andrea, Chris Burgess and fiancé, Saundi Bridges, Tom Beard, Mel Partridge and wife, Libby and Jason Dyson; Great Grandchildren; Maci Dyson, Lacey Dyson, Wade Partridge, J.M. Burgess, Shelbi Partridge, Hannah Strother, Ben Strother and Caden Shaufelberger; brother, James Rowland and wife Daphne of Lincolnton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Shirley Burgess, Libby Partridge, Andrea Burgess and Saundi Bridges for the extraordinary care given to Ms. Clement.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Clement was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Ray Clement; first husband Marvin Thomas Burgess; granddaughter Mary Katherine Dyson; son-in-law Tommy Beard; daughter-in-law Susan Burgess; six sisters and six brothers.
