LINCOLNTON, GA. - Mrs. Myrtice Rowland Poss, 90 a resident of the Cooper House Personal Care entered into rest on Monday, April 8, 2013 at Wills Memorial Hospital in Washington, GA. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Bethany United Methodist Church with Rev. Thomas Moon officiating. Interment will be in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Phillip McGahee, Lee Myers, Timmy Gant, Fred Tetterton, Lee Whelchel and Jimmy Fisher. Mrs. Poss was one of fourteen children of Claude Oliver DeWitt Rowland and Mary Jane Hall Rowland. She was as a textile worker and a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Verell Freese and husband, Bob of Washington, N.C. and Carol McGahee and husband Phil of Lincolnton; four sisters, Mozelle Smalley and Mary Jane Clement of Lincolnton; Clara Bonnett of Aiken, S.C. and Elizabeth Blake of Augusta, Ga.; one brother, James Rowland and wife, Daphne of Lincolnton; eleven grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Mrs. Poss was preceded in death by her husbands, Lewis B. Myers and Roy Poss; two sons, Bennie Myers and Johnny Myers; one daughter, Marian Strother and one grandson, Richard Myers.
