AUGUSTA, GA. - Mrs. Nell Price Roland, 90 entered into rest on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Augusta Gardens Assisted Living. A Celebration of her life will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Independence United Methodist Church in Tignall, GA. with Dr. Matt Rich presiding. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Chafin, Kevin Cook, Rick Price, Mark Roland, Jack Smalley and Daniel Sykes. Nell was born and raised in Wilkes County and lived in Richmond County for over fifty years. She was married to Carl Roland for fifty-three years. After Carl's death,she was married to Claude Davis for five years. Nell was active in many civic organizations such as President of Country Acres Garden Club, Vice President of the Georgia P.T.A. and a member of the Richmond County Board of Education for eight years. She is survived by her son, Eddie Roland and wife, Barbara of Dunwoody, GA.; one daughter, Sandra Sykes and husband, Bill of Marietta, GA.; two grandchildren, Mark Roland and wife, Aundrea and Daniel Sykes; two great-grandchildren, Kinzy Roland and Carlee Roland of LaGrange, GA.; one sister, Jean Rhodes of Washington, GA.; two sisters-in-law, Daisy Parker and Mary Sue Heard, both of Tignall; one niece, Amelia Chafin of Washington; two nephews, James Price of Knoxville, TN. and Blakey Brown of Washington.
