Obituary
TIFTON, GA. - Mrs. Laura Oleeta Danner Britt, 82, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A memorial service was held for Oleeta March 2, 2017 in the Memorial Chapel of Tifton's First Baptist Church with Dr. Wayne Roe officiating. The interment service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery in Lincolnton with Rev. Allen Danner officiating.
Born July 3, 1934 in Lincolnton, Georgia, Oleeta was the daughter of the late Abram Hughs Danner and Annie Maude Lewis Danner. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Theron Danner, Maynard Danner and D. T. Danner; and two sisters, Edna Danner Hill and Mildred Danner Goldman. She was a teacher, homemaker and Hospice worker. She was a graduate of Mercer University. Oleeta often told a dear friend, "my obituary should read, 'I lived and I died.' She isn't getting off that easy. Oleeta moved to Tifton in 1959 and immediately became involved in community activities and with her church. An active member of Tifton's First Baptist Church, she was a faithful member of Gardeners Sunday school class, Women on Mission and helped with Celebrate Recovery. Oleeta loved her church, church family, family and friends. She was a loving person with a positive attitude. Reaching out and helping others was a priority with Oleeta and one of her passions was working with Meals on Wheels. She will be greatly missed by all of those she loved and befriended.
Oleeta is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Margie and David Dietz of Hedgesville, West Virginia; a sister-in-law, Lenora W. Danner of Lincolnton, Georgia; many nieces, nephews, cousins, children and grandchildren, adopted in love; her church family at Tifton's First Baptist Church and many friends in Tifton.
