LINCOLNTON, GA. - Mrs. Patricia A. "Pat" Parton, 67, of 4485 Chamberlain Ferry Rd. entered into rest on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at her residence. The memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, September 9, 2012 at Pine Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Thomas Moon and Mr. Johnny Johnson officiating. Mrs. Parton was a retired administrative secretary at Fort Gordon. She was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church, taught the Sudie Sims Sunday School Class for many years and was active in the jail ministry. Survivors include her husband of 17 years, Ray A. Parton; two sons, Michael Axton and wife, April of Lawrenceville, GA. and Scott Axton of Evans, GA.; two step-sons, Stanley Parton and wife, Sarah of Lincolnton and Dewey Parton and wife, Pat of Cason, Texas; one sister, B.J. Jopling of St. Simons, GA.; one brother, Mark Jopling of Fond DU LAC, WI.; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
