LINCOLNTON, GA. - Mr. Charles Philip Graves, 69, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Augusta University Medical Center.
A Celebration of Life service with military honors will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Elijah Clark State Park, group shelter #1 with Richard Hillman officiating.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Darryl Bentley, Freddie Bentley, Jeff Bentley and Brian Henderson.
Mr. Graves was the son of John Bentley Graves and Edna Story Graves and was a former member of Warren Baptist Church. He had served his country with honor in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Graves 1st Duty Station was serving at the Naval Air Station at Miramar, California with the Fighting Squadron VF921; 2nd Duty Station was aboard the USS Oriskany CVA 34 in charge of airplane electronic gear with the S-6 Division. Mr. Graves was Junior Superintendent at Augusta National for 14 years, Assistant Superintendent at West Lake for 7 years and Equipment Technician and Course Management for 5 years at Rocky Branch Golf Course.
Survivors include a daughter, Paula G. Henderson and husband, Brian of Lincolnton; and numerous other family members.
