LINCOLNTON, GA - Mrs. Prudie Holloway Tankersley, 96, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at her daughter's residence on Woodcrest Dr. in Thomson, GA.

The funeral service will be graveside at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Double Branches Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jim Miller officiating. At the family's request, masks and social distancing will be observed.

Mrs. Tankersley was the daughter of the late Henry Morgan Holloway and the late Pauline Burns Holloway of Lincoln County. Prudie always got a lot of joy and fulfillment out of working in her yard, mowing her lawn, and tending to her azaleas and old-fashioned petunias. Prudie loved sewing and was an excellent seamstress, making many clothes throughout the years for family and friends. She also loved baking cakes with her specialty being lemon pound cake. Mrs. Tankersley before her health started declining, faithfully attended Martin's Crossroads Congregational Holiness Church.

Mrs. Tankersley was survived by her daughter, Fern Whitaker and husband, Roger of Thomson, GA; one granddaughter, Taylor Whitaker of Milledgeville, GA; three sisters, Julia Reese of Lincolnton,  Lou McWilliams and husband, Roland of Birmingham, AL, Patsy Clement of Evans, GA. Mrs. Tankersley along with her parents was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Tankersley; five siblings, H.M. Holloway, Ernestine Bohler, Rachel Haynes, Allen Holloway and Ellen Tankersley.
