LINCOLNTON, GA. - Mr. Ray A. "Buck" Parton, 89, of Chamberlain Ferry Rd. entered into rest on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at his residence.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Pine Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Thomas Moon and Rev. John Belangia officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Furman Parton, Preston Parton, Aaron Parton, Michael Fox, Anthony Kinzle and Gerald Lawson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the men of Pine Grove United Methodist Church.
Mr. Parton was the son of the late Furman Marion Parton and the late Lillie Mae Walker Parton of Lincoln County. He was retired from logging and drove a school bus for the Lincoln County School System. Mr. Parton was also a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Stanley Parton of Lincolnton and Dewey Parton and wife, Pat of Clinton, TN.; four grandchildren, Aaron Parton, Crystal Fox, Furman Parton and Preston Parton; four step-grandchildren, April Crowley, Adam Kinzle, Amy Wilson and Anthony Kinzle; five great grandchildren; six step-great grandchildren; three sisters, Dean Flanigan, Peggy Saggus and Myrtle Belangia all of Lincolnton.
Mr. Parton was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Holsenback Parton and his first wife, Hazel Ivey Parton; daughter-in-law, Sarah C. Parton; great grandson, Collin Parton and a brother, Johnie Parton.
