In loving memory of Sharon Capell, who graced this world with her unwavering spirit and boundless love, we celebrate a life that was richly lived and deeply cherished. Sharon was born on June 25, 1956, in Lake City, Florida, and peacefully departed this life on July 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

   Sharon was the beloved wife of David W. Capell, with whom she shared 50 beautiful years of marriage. Their union, which began on May 30, 1976, in Lake City, was a journey filled with love, laughter, and the raising of three exceptional sons: David John (Jessica), Kyle David (Rebekah), and David Asa (Kyrsten). Sharon's legacy lives on in her cherished grandson, Finn, who brought immense joy to her days.

   A proud graduate of Columbia High School, Lake City, in 1974, Sharon then pursued her passion for nurturing young minds by earning a degree in early childhood education. Though her career included a fascinating stint with Motocross Fox in California, Sharon's true vocation was found in her unwavering dedication to her family which included formal and informal teaching. Her compassionate nature was a beacon of support and love, touching countless lives.

   Sharon's faith was the cornerstone of her life. As a proud follower of Jesus Christ, she was an active member of various churches throughout her journey. Her commitment to her faith and spiritual insight was a testament to her strength and grace, guiding her through all of life's challenges and joys.

   In her earlier years, Sharon's adventurous spirit led her to explore many European countries during a memorable chapter spent living in Germany. More recently, she found solace in the serene beauty of her mountain cabin, embracing the slower pace of Appalachian life that brought her peace and contentment.

   Sharon was a woman defined by her love—whether as Sharon, Mom, or Mimi, her persistent devotion was the heart of every phase of her life. Her genuine warmth, caring nature, and wit left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

   Sharon is survived by her husband David, her treasured sons and their families, her father IJ Godbold, her loving sister Susan Parrish (Phil), and her dear brother John Todd Godbold (Debbie). She is also survived by a host of in-laws, cousins, and friends who enriched her life and will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

   A service and burial to honor Sharon's life will be held on July 24, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Pine Grove United Methodist Church, located at 3449 Pine Grove Church Rd, Lincolnton, GA with Pastor Bart Grey and Rev. Jack Foley, Georgia Hospice Care Chaplain officiating. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff of Augusta Oncology (North Augusta) and Georgia Hospice Care for their exceptional care and support during Sharon's courageous battle with cancer.

   Serving as pallbearers will be nephews.

   As we bid farewell to a truly remarkable woman, we take comfort in knowing that Sharon's spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. Her love, wit, wisdom, and compassion will forever be etched in our hearts.
