Obituary

Mr. Stanley Ray Parton, 79, of Lincolnton, passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 27 at Piedmont Augusta Hospital. A lifelong resident of Lincolnton, Stanley was a man deeply rooted in faith, family, and community.

Stanley's early years were spent working alongside his father and uncle in sawmilling and hauling pulpwood, where he developed the strong work ethic that defined his life. After several years with R&D Maintenance, he dedicated nearly 22 years of service to the City of Lincolnton Water Department, many of those as superintendent. He faithfully served his community until his retirement in 2013.

He found joy in life's simple pleasures—tending his garden, fishing, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs. He especially treasured traveling with his beloved wife, most often to the Great Smoky Mountains, though they also enjoyed exploring new places together.

Stanley will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and faithful member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church. His love and commitment to his wife and children were evident to all who knew him. Over the years, he served on numerous church committees and was actively involved in the United Methodist Men's group. His life was a testament to his unwavering dedication to God, his family, and his community.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Ivey Parton; his father, Ray Aldolphus Parton; his wife, Sarah Cawley Parton; and his grandson, Collin Parton.

He is survived by his brother, Dewey Parton and wife, Pat of Lincolnton; his daughter, Crystal Fox and husband, Warren of Martinez; his son, Furman Parton and wife, Leigh Anne of Evans; three grandchildren, Michael Fox  and fiancée Sara , Jacob Fox and wife, Karley, and Evelyn Parton; two great-grandsons, Kale and Cayden; and two step-great-granddaughters, Lauren and Emberly. His legacy of faith, service, and love will continue through each of them.
