LINCOLNTON, GA. - Mrs. Susie Sherrer Power, 92, of 1408 Augusta Hwy. entered into rest on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Wills Memorial Hospital in Washington, GA. The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Carters Grove Baptist Church cemetery in Talifaferro County with Rev. Tom Kalliokoski officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Pete Poss, Mike Wheatley, Jake Buff, Clyde Whittington, Ronnie Goldman and Bobby Walraven. Mrs. Power was the daughter of the late William Glover Sherrer and the late Daisy Tewell Sherrer of Courtgrounds in Wilkes County. She established the Milky Way Freeze Bar in Lincolnton in 1958 and operated it for approximately 10 years. Mrs. Power also attended New Hope Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Jerry Power of Anderson, S.C.; one daughter Sandra P. Goldman and husband, Billy Joe of Lincolnton; two grandchildren, Angela G. Bolen of Jefferson, GA. and Dr. Billy Goldman and wife, Samantha of Athens, GA; four great grandchildren, Chandler Bolen, Charles Bolen, Cate Goldman and Caroline Goldman; one sister, Maggie Buff of Rayle, GA.; a number of very special nieces and nephews; survivors also include Mary Bowick and Annie Ruth Freeman who faithfully and lovingly cared for Mrs. Susie. Mrs. Power was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Vinson Power; three sisters, Rosa Lee Whittington, Sallie Poss and Pauline Poss; and two brothers, Buster Sherrer and Bob Sherrer.
