Obituary

Mc CORMICK, S.C. - Mr. Wyatte E. Chamberlain, Jr., 90, entered into rest on Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Savannah Heights Living Center in McCormick. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2011 at Republican United Methodist Church with the Rev. Phil Bostrom officiating. Interment will be in Overbrook Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Dusty Hall, Jeffery Robertson, Chris Robertson, Michael Robertson, Dustin Hall and Louis P. Chamberlain. Serving as a honorary pallbearer will be Charles Madden. Mr. Chamberlain was the son of the late Wyatte E. Chamberlain, Sr. and the late Daisy Holloway Chamberlain of McCormick County. He was a carpenter by trade, an avid Atlanta Braves fan and was the oldest and a lifelong member of Republican United Methodist Church. Mr. Chamberlain also served his country as a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp. Survivors include two daughters, Peggie C. Robertson and husband, Jeffery of McCormick and Marie C. Hall and husband, Dusty of Aiken, S.C.; two sisters, Doris C. Klein of Dunellon, FL. and Phyllis C. Burton and husband, Gene of Elberton, GA.; three grandchildren, Dustin Hall, Chris Robertson and Michael Robertson and one great grandson, Jonathan Robertson. Mr. Chamberlain was also preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine W. Chamberlain; son, Wyatte Ellington "Buster" Chamberlain III; grandson, Kenny Kight; sister, Juanita Wansley and a brother, Perry Chamberlain. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Republican United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 289, McCormick, S.C. 29835.
